One last stop in the 5th grade

Barker's class went on an end of the year field trip to the Stevenson's interpretive center.
Not the most exciting of places to go, but they sure had a great time!

Barker's last LL game

Barker's majors team played the other White Salon majors team for their final game, sandlot style.
They took it to another level by choosing team captains and inter-mixed the teams.
It poured rain for most of the game, but I think it added to the fun!
These boys played their hearts out and had an absolute blast!

Afterwards, Barker's team was invited to Mason's house for a team celebration and pool party, so fun!

Working on their golf swing

Which can be a tricky thing to do amidst baseball season, different body mechanics.
This meant lots of balls to be chased down for Daddy!

Kingston's last game of the season

For their last game, the minors boys team played the minors girls team.
The girls pitched fast pitch softballs to the boys and the boys pitched baseballs to the girls. Norah and Kingston were talking all kinds of pregame smack to each other about which team was going to win.
Since they are both pitchers a lot of street cred was on the line!
Thankfully the game ended in a 6 to 6 tie.
Here they are post game enjoying much earned ice cream!

Cole and Kingston

Are basically brothers!
At least that's what they wish for and that's how they act towards each other!

Kingston's sandlot game

For one of the last games of the season the teams got to play a game with sandlot rules...
meaning they make up the rules! They get to decide who plays where, the batting line up, and they call the balls, strikes and outs. One of the players on the team broke his femur so his season was cut short. The boys made this sign for him!

It was quite the entertaining game to watch!
Here is a pic of the batting line up and position assignments they came up with!

GPa, Nana, Uncle B, Cabo and Maui came for a visit!

GPa flew down early to spend a little extra time with us since he is fully retired now and taking advantage of extra time! It was so great having him here! He sent down some projects to do with the boys for when he arrived. We are now the proud owners of a dehydrator and we had that baby humming the whole time. He showed us how to do ground beef jerky, bananas and about 10 pounds of apples which the kids just gobbled up. Here they are making the jerky.

Here they are making clay sculptures which they then baked and painted!
Barker made a football, Kingston a king's crown and GPa a human skull.
So fun!

One of the biggest projects was building this pergola from start to finish with Jake.
Here they are planning out the final pieces.
It is amazing how fast things get done with GPa around!

Here is a progression of steps to get this far.

The finished product!

GPa the dog whisperer!

They also sent down a new yard game called Kubb which was super fun!
We logged lots of rounds playing this all together!

Wally and Cabo really hit it off. They have similar energy levels.
Here they are after a long game of chase outside. They came in to rest but still couldn't get enough of each other, so they held paws!

It was such an awesome visit - can't wait for the next one!!!
