After hiking about halfway up, we found an amazing igloo someone had built - 

it sure was fun to explore!

RC car

Barker decided with his Christmas money he wanted to purchase an RC car, so off to he hobby shop we went and came home with this gem. It's been fun watching him take care of it. You can tell that because he spent his own money on it, he's much more concerned about how it's handled and played with.

The person who sold it to him gave him pretty specific instructions on how to properly use it without damaging it. He's been taking it very seriously!

Rocco and Nils

2 brothers we see at the HR skatepark often. We have fun whatever we're doing together,

it's just awesome to hang out with people other than your own brother sometimes, and these two "get it!"

 

Science scavenger hunt

Barker's Science teacher put together a scavenger hunt for learning about stratigraphy, it was super fun!

Not only did we learn science-y stuff a in real life, right now environment, but it was in the middle of an amazing bike park that we didn't know existed! Double win!

Honoring MLK Jr.

Since we had an extra day off of school in January in honor of MLK Jr., we decided to

emulate him and his service driven existence by cleaning up the highway.

It's crazy the stuff that people throw out!

They were sooo cute all squeezed in that chair together reading. I knew the risks but took a chance on snapping a photo - their spidey sense went off immediately and I was caught, hence their 

annoyed faces amidst an exit strategy

Dropping in

This is about a 10 foot drop. As they both climbed up there, myself and the 17 year old scooter-er they both look up to said, "Umm, that doesn't look like a good idea." They dropped it anyway.

I dropped my jaw and about lost my lunch - these 2 are crazy.

An ever elusive feature at the skatepark...first he hops it, then he makes his way

all the way around after a tip from a helpful teenager!
