Take-Down throwback

I came across this series of photos today - melted my heart.
It's from 5 years ago . . . both still in diapers!

soooo jealous

Spike is in a time-out after an escape this
morning from the car in down town Hood River
when dropping Kingston off at school . . .
Luckily, a fast acting Dad nabbed him before he leapt
over the fence. Never again Spike, never again - Mommy
learned her lesson. So now your on LOCK DOWN until further notice!

Ice crushers

I went to Bright Beginnings to have lunch with Kingston today.
Due to Mother Nature deciding to bring Winter back
over the last few days, we've had our fair share of snow
in town! It warms up throughout the day and melts
a little then back to freezing temps at night. That leaves
big ice pockets for these tough amigos to bust up at recess.
They were hard at work for much of their outside time,
they forgot to 'play' in the snow!

Ava's 7th Birthday party!

Last weekend after getting to visit the family
at Uncle Matt's house - we crashed a Birthday party
before leaving town.
(Crossed that off the bucket list).  ;)
It was so fun getting to play with all of our friends from
the Tri-Cities and we even both had the chance to
roller BLADE for the first time . . . now we're hooked!

blue & white

I got to have lunch with Barker at school today.
One week ago, a 4th grader from May Street Elementary
died after getting home from school (at home with family)
from a heart condition that she has had since birth.
The 4th grader's little sister is in Barker's 1st Grade class
and it has been a bit of an emotional week.
Yesterday, before school got out, the Principal made an announcement
to the students that if they wanted to honor Grendy, they
should wear blue or white on Friday as those were her
favorite colors. Parents were unaware of this request as no letter
was sent home to have the parents remind the children.
On his own this morning when Barker was getting dressed he said,
"I am going to wear a blue shirt for Grendy today - it was her
favorite color." When I arrived at the school for lunch,
the amount of blue and white was heart-melting
overwhelming! Just about every kiddo I saw,
without help from their parents mind you as we were unaware of the plan,
stood in solidarity today to honor their fellow student, Grendy.
It's a bit hard to see in these images because of winter
jackets, and I started to feel weird about snapping
so many pics of other peoples children, but let me tell you
it was indescribably amazing!

Valentine's Day family snuggle & a movie

Daddy & Mommy both had work off today,
so after school we played Prime Time football
and both were there to cheer us on! We
played for longer than normal today because we just
couldn't get enough. (Or we were on a sugar high from our
classroom Valentine's Day celebrations)! When we got home we were
pretty much worn out so after dinner we all snuggled
up together in our cozies and watched a movie...
on a school night! It was the best of days.

5 sweaty boys

Phinn, Kingston, Benaiah, Barker & Atticus play hard and non-stop
when they're together. No matter how much time passes between
playdates, they always pick up where they left off and have the
best time together!

paleontologists

They've been patiently holding on to these dinosaur eggs
from Aunty Krystle & Uncle Justin since Christmas!!!
But fairer weather is amongst us and the LONG wait
is finally over. So outside we went to see what their careful
extraction techniques would uncover.
After much patience and hard work, they are now the proud
parents of a baby T-rex and a baby Stegosaurus!
After getting their eggs open, they were inspired to explore
the yard with their tools and see if there were any other 'fossils'
they could discover - it was a hoot to watch!
They had a blast with this project and it was well worth the wait.
Thank you Krystle & Justin!!!

Super Bowl Sunday!

Daddy made it home in time for the big game and
we had the snacks ready! The boys are old enough now
that they are interested in watching and stayed tuned in the whole time.
Excepting Barker's intermittent football plays he was
running himself and Kingston's teeny cat nap.
Other than that, everyone was all in!
It was so great having an afternoon together just chillaxing.

throw back

to a few years back at Miss Lily's 1st Birthday party,
where Barker was caught on surveillance video
making a jungle gym out of Adam & Emily's
garage door...
Nothing like 'literally' climbing the walls to show
everyone how good your Mama's supervision/parenting
skills are.
(kiddos are so humbling)
