Lessons from big bro

Kingston got his first course in 4-wheeler 101 from
Barker the other day.
(This is the handle bar, this is the gas, this is forward, and
this is reverse).

He actually can't quite reach the 'gas' pedal on his own yet,
which is just fine with us. Barker does a great job of
'letting Kingston drive' while on the back. Such a sweet
big brother, keeping little bro (who is a quick and smart
little whipper snapper that wants to do everything
big bro does) happy and safe.

Motorcycle, helmet, & hat (oh and cookies)

Them trying to figure out who looks the coolest
while on the motorcycle and with which head ornament.

 Kingston posing for Daddy.

And not quite grasping the difference between 'yes' & 'no'
but trying his darnedest to get a cookie outta Mama.
Mostly he thinks 'no' is the answer to everything...
since he hears us (following him around all day) telling him
'no this' and 'no that.'

Memorial Day Weekend Camping Trip

We traveled to Pine Hollow Lake Resort for our first TWO-NIGHT
camping adventure with Rowan & Brody's PLUS Emma &
Gracies's families.

Gracie & Kinger having a Go-gurt date.

K was super worn out after just the first day.
While we ran around getting situated and making dinner
he lounged in the tent and didn't even cause a ruckus.
I've never seen anything like it. So far, I'm
really loving camping!

Kingston, Daddy, Brody, Barker, & Rowan
AKA
'the Sunglasses crew.'

Kingston
AKA
the king of snoozes and relaxing.

Brody, Kingston & Barker racing their motorcycles.

Kingston was coming up with some pretty strange places
to squeeze out a nap. Always kept us guessing.

Rowan & Barker mustache you a question...

Is my mustache crooked!?!

Big boys can help themselves at the hydration station.

Overall camping experience=success!

The only person who napped more than Kingston on the
camping excursion was Cheeto. And then as soon as we walked in the door,
he was at it again. Now I see where K gets it.

2 parties, 1 day

First, it was our neighbor Audrey's 6th birthday, and there were all
sorts of things to bonce on. Kingston tried his hand at each of them!

He was having such a blast, it was hard to pull him away.
But we had to get up the mountain to celebrate with Daddy
and the last day of operations at MHM ski resort.

The weather was perfect and there were so many things for
us to do. On top of music by many different bands, people dressed
in playful costumes, and yummy junk food, the boys got to have their
very first tattoo session. It was air-brushed. But it made no difference to
Brodie and Barker. They have officially gotten their first tats together!

Then they got to have their faces painted with
elaborate 'masks.' Barker was a dragon and after getting
this done, proceeded to be 'in character' for the remainder
of the day.
RRRRRRRAARRRRRR!

These two couldn't stand to not be staring at themselves
while making faces in the window. Pretty entertaining!

An eventful day

Barker chomped some delicious watermelon.

Kingston drove Barker around so he could get his errands done.

They had a high-stakes Monster Truck rally.

Barker jumped until the cows came home at the neighbors house.

Kingston double fisted it.

AND GOT HIS VERY FIRST HAIR TRIM!
He instantly looked SO grown up.

And then big bro fell asleep first. He just couldn't keep up
with K-Dub. Good thing he didn't pass out with his shoes
on or Kingston would've drawn on his face -
fraternity brother style.

Kittie pile!

Poor Navi-girl. She is incredibly patient.
These 2 love her SO much!

Happy Mother's Day!

Such a fun day!
We got moving early and set out for a family hike.
(Mommy rode on Daddy's shoulders).

The boys were able to walk much of the way,
which was pretty awesome. The main trail is paved, but
there are little "off trail" look-out spots which the boys loved
to go out and explore on. We saw more critters that way, even a pond
with the first tadpoles they've ever seen.

We stopped mid-way to have a little picnic. And take
a selfie. Family-style. An older couple stopped us at this point
and asked if they could take our picture.
The gentleman said he was a painter and thought it was a
nice idea for a future piece of work. With the back drop of the Columbia River
and our little family sitting in a beautiful field surrounded
by wildflowers under the bright blue sky chomping
away on some very watery watermelon. Who wouldn't want
paint that!?! HAH! Needless to say, our heads
are now 10 times larger than our previous selves.

On the hike back out, Barker and Daddy were
"racing/goofing around" and B fell and scraped his knee.
(Notice Daddy and B are both wearing an "owie" face.
Daddy felt pretty bad).

Then we hit up the beach! Where we wrestled and
built sand castles, Kingston ate a seashell (or is it a rivershell?),
Cheeto rolled in something unidentifiable (and was so
happy with himself he about died from
spunkieness overload).

And Barker frolicked in the water whilst skipping rocks
with half of his hiney out.
Couldn't have been a better day.
